Leica DIGILUX 3 7.5MP Digital SLR Camera with Leica D 14-50mm f/2.8-3.5 ASPH Lens with Optical Image Stabilization
Leica Digilux 3 Digital Camera:
Leica Digilux 3 digital camera is a product of the Leica AG cooperation. Basing your argument on the Lumix DMC-L1 produced by the Panasonic Company, the Leica Digilux 3 digital camera is the very first digital camera to use the Four-Thirds lens. This is because of the bare fact that it is compatible with this kind of lens standards specifically those manufactured by the Olympus Company. Physically, the Leica Digilux 3 Digital Camera tends to have a retro kind of look. It looks more like the traditional kinds of cameras. This can be attributed to its designer; Professor Achim Heine of, a Berlin nationalist. It has a resolution of seven and half mega-pixels, which works just perfectly. This is quite similar to the Evolte-330 digital camera manufactured by Olympus Company.
These two lenses are quite similar since they both have Live MOS image sensors, though the Evolte was the first to be manufactured. In addition to image sensors, they also have viewfinders, AE sensors and quick return mirrors. Olympus digital cameras are known to have wave filters that act as dust covers, but this changed with the introduction of Leica Digilux 3 digital camera, which also has wave filters though it is not Olympus branded. The Leica Digilux 3 digital camera weighs about 550 g.
Digilux 3 has an LCD of 2.5inches with 207,000 pixels and a maximum aperture of 2.8. Its shutter has a speed dial located at the anterior side of the camera. The aperture can be controlled using some rings that are at the bundled lens of which are 15-50mm long. These rings not only control the aperture but also the zooming and the focus.
The Leica Digilux 3 digital camera has the ability to frame photos using the LCD display. This is one of the functions of the Live View function which is also found in the DMC-LI and the EVOLTE-330. This function can be used regardless of the type of focusing being used; automatic or manual. The LCD display comes in handy when one is focusing since it offers a larger view hence one gets to confirm the appearance of the image in focus.
The Digilux 3 has an added feature that enables it to store images. This due to the memory card slot that is located at the side. It can use any kind of Secure Digital Card even those with a memory capacity of 2GB and above. The maximum it can withhold is a capacity of 32GB with a downloading rate of 6megabytes each second.
The Digilux 3 can shoot a maximum of three frames each second. But when it comes to JPEG frames, it has no limit. Its focusing ability is top notch. With an ISO sensitivity of between 100 and 1500 and a three point detection phase, one is assured of accurate focusing. The shutter operates at a speed of 60-1/4000 seconds and has an ultimate of 8 minutes exposure to the bulb. The Digilux 3 can be purchased at any Leica outlet for as little as $2500.
